For ALL Couples Getting Married

Have you ever seen so much joy in one photo?! Truth be told, one of our very favorite parts of the wedding is when the newlyweds turn to make their way down the aisle for the processional. After all, the couple’s excitement says it all! And this couple right here perfectly exemplifies that moment. As for the rest of their celebration? Well, it takes place in the location where the bride spent her summers with family and the entire day is filled to the brim with the most romantic florals, a soft color palette, and a picturesque ceremony overlooking the water, among so much more. Take a peek at the gallery below brought to us by Daniel & Bethany.

From Daniel & Bethany…Miranda and Nate are such a beautiful, sweet, fun-loving couple. Their wedding day was at Lake Mission Viejo where the bride, Miranda, grew up spending her summers with her family. This day was inspired by the lake and gardens.

We really wanted to ensure the wedding aesthetic truly represented both of us. We both have a huge appreciation for natural beauty and agreed on a nature-oriented color scheme. Our wedding decor was intended to be cohesive and complementary to our beautiful lake-front venue with pale blues and natural greens. We also chose to accent with dark wood, a style that Nate loves.  The ceremony itself was traditional, surrounded by family and friends. We spent some time looking for an officiant who complimented both our beliefs while also keeping our guests into consideration. We decided we did not want an overly religious ceremony to ensure all guests felt comfortable. After careful research, we found Don Johnson – and couldn’t have been happier! Don was the perfect addition to our wedding day. Although we had only known Don a short time during the wedding planning, he truly took the time to get to know both of us. The ceremony was both emotional and touching (with a touch of humor!) all thanks to the infamous Don Johnson. Our favorite part of the ceremony was our personal vows. We agreed that writing our own was the best way to show our love for each other.

With our venue being lakefront, we felt we didn’t need to add much to the already natural beauty of the space. As far as the decor, the majority were DIY. Although we hired florists, additional floral arrangements were created by Miranda’s aunt a few days before the wedding. We made the entry signs, card boxes, seating chart and easel, wooden centerpieces, wooden greenery rings, and the ring toss game! Among our favorite DIY projects were the bride vs groom cornhole set and the cake topper. Nate started the cornhole project two days before the wedding and enlisted his best man Luke and dad LC to finish sanding the boards the night before the wedding, in the bed of Luke’s truck in the hotel parking lot.The cake topper was a gift. Nate’s dad LC is a great carver, and we asked him if he would be willing to carve our cake topper for us. He asked for criteria and we gave none and asked him to make it from his heart. He modeled the cake topper using a photo we took during our original engagement shoot, and we are absolutely in love with how it turned out!

We worked with a very talented floral team comprised of two separate florists, Seven Stems and McKenna Floral. Seven Stems crafted the overhead greenery in both the indoor reception space and the outer pergola. McKenna Floral designed the ceremony arch and all of the centerpieces for the reception. On top of that, we incorporated a lot of natural greenery from Miranda’s family’s backyard. Around the centerpieces, Miranda’s aunt thoughtfully placed olive-looking greenery branches around a wooden circle (which sat in the center of each table, underneath each floral arrangement). I do believe the florists were a huge part of the overall style of the wedding, since our main focus was on natural beauty!
