For ALL Couples Getting Married

When a late spring wedding is this pretty, it’s hard to choose where to start. But we just can’t stop oohing and ahhh-ing over the bride’s flawless wedding day look. Her chic chignon hairstyle paired with a cathedral-length veil, makeup to bring out her natural beauty, and a stunning lace Alvina Valenta ball gown all makes for a classic and effortless look. Don’t you think? Add in blush florals to soften up the bridesmaid dresses, a quaint church, a beach setting for photos, and just enough personalized details to highlight the ballroom and the couple’s story and you’ll have a lovely soiree to last a lifetime. Not to mention, the location. Ohhh, that picture-perfect location with panoramic water views as the sun is setting across the horizon. What’s not to love?! Thank you so much to Susan Hennessey Photography for sharing Corey and Kevin’s wedding day below.

From Susan Hennessey Photography…I absolutely loved photographing Corey in a hotel room at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, the light was perfect and one of my favorite makeup artists, Kacey was finishing up makeup on my stunning bride. These two had a sweet church ceremony only a few short blocks away from the Reeds. Once the ceremony was complete and these two were married, we headed to the Bird Sanctuary of Stone Harbor and then the beach for bridal party and couple photos. We had the perfect beach day and I can still hear Corey’s laugh in these photos. Their reception at the Reeds at Shelter Haven was the perfect black tie affair! And this group partied until the end. My favorite moment of the reception was when I was able to sneak the newlyweds away for a few sunset shots on the dock overlooking the water. Definitely one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen at a wedding!

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We wanted simple, light and natural colors being at the beach. Traditional black tuxes for the men and long black simple dresses for the women. The flowers had white, blush and greens. The flower girls matched with light pink dresses. And the ring bearers wore suits without the jacket. We didnt need much decor in the reception space because of the view of the bay.

Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
My favorite part of the wedding was the venue. They did an absolutely amazing job from start to finish. The weather was perfect for our outside cocktail hour on the deck. We were extremely happy with our florist and photographer. Everything was beautiful and the pictures were stunning! Starting with the church ceremony at St Marys Episcopal Church to the wild bird preserve, the beach, then to the reception at the Reeds with sunset photos on the bay.
