For ALL Couples Getting Married

If you’re not sure where to have your engagement session, look no further than Princeton University! The grounds are immaculate and there are so many hidden gems throughout the campus. Take for instance Alisha and Donovan’s photos captured through the lens of Jaye Kogut Photography. We just love the composition of these images from the architecture and sweet details incorporated throughout their session to the love that’s clearly radiating from the couple. See it all for yourself in the gallery below and then be sure to pick up the latest Spring/Summer 2020 edition of Contemporary Weddings Magazine to see more from Alisha and Donovan’s engagement story.

From Jaye Kogut Photography…As everyone knows, once a year I try to give back to my community by being a part of an “Ultimate Engagement Giveaway” contest, or just simply paying it forward with my work. This year, the most adorable couple ever won; myself, along with several area vendors, spent time with them on the campus of Princeton University. Alisha and Donovan are so cute!

We met back in the day at the YMCA summer camp as camp counselors. Alisha would always have her group follow mine around all day, even if the room was too small for all of the kids! A few years passed of us being friends and she one day reached out to me and we made a date to watch fireworks. The rest was history.

We have been talking about getting engaged since the first year we started dating back in 2016! One weekend during our walk through Princeton my fiancé and I decided to walk in to Hamilton Jewelers-the store you always see but never causally walk into. By chance we struck up a conversation with one of the owners and our attention drifted over to the engagement ring section. Immediately we were impressed by their friendliness and personable nature and knew immediately that they would be the people we would want to work with for the most monumental moment in our lives thus far.

Flash forward to February 8th 2019 in a hotel room in Lake Tahoe, in front of mountainous view, next to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and endless love, he would be kneeled down in front of me asking me to be his forever. Unbeknownst to me, he had been in contact with the jeweler for weeks on end, he had asked my father for permission to marry me, and he had contacted the hotel to help transform our simple winter vacation into the beginning of the rest of our lives.
