1. While there is no rule as to how many guys can stand at the altar with you, consider how many bridesmaids your fiancé plans on having. Try to keep the bridesmaid to groomsmen ratio as even as possible.

2. Your best man should be someone you can 110% rely on. He will be your right hand man, so make sure you choose someone who is responsible. Is there a potential best man that is known to show up late, party a little too much, or worse, forget the most important events to date? If your answer is yes, then this probably isn’t the best person for this role. You need to trust that your best man will take care of any wedding-related tasks you give him.

3. Did you choose a best man? Great! Now it’s time to select your groomsmen. Those that accept this role will not only escort the bridesmaids down the aisle, but will also hand out ceremony programs and seat guests before the ceremony. Include your brother(s), your fiancé’s brother(s), and any of your best buddies that you’re close with.

With a little thought and planning, you can confidently say that you chose the best men in your life to stand next to you on the most special day of your life!
