We’re kicking off our week with a classic New Jersey wedding at Il Tulipano that’s filled to the brim with the prettiest blue wedding inspiration. From the bridesmaid robes and one-shoulder dresses to the bride’s royal blue Badgley Miscka shoes and the groom’s tie, this color palette is striking, timeless and the perfect way to include something blue into your wedding day fashion. From Idalia Photography…These two newlyweds met through friends, as their best friends are actually cousins and own a family shore house together. Cristina and Sean were around each other many times before actually speaking to each other. It was one night when they were out a bar together that they were officially introduced to each other and the rest, as they say, is history! Their relationship evolved and Sean eventually proposed during a hike in front of a waterfall in the Poconos. All week, there was a threat of rain for Cristina and Sean’s wedding day, but when I corresponded with Cristina she wasn’t one bit worried. She and Sean were way too excited about getting married that they weren’t the least bit concerned with the weather. They weren’t going to let a tiny hiccup steal the joy they felt that day. I loved this worry-free approach to the day, and I think the weather gods did, too, because the day turned out to be rain-free! Cristina and Sean planned a perfectly paced day, allowing them plenty of time for photos at Verona Park as well as the grounds of il Tulipano, which felt like we had escaped NJ for an Italian Villa for the day. Their wedding day details included the softest, fluffiest white peonies as well as gorgeous white orchids and other beautiful florals, all arranged by none other than Cristina’s own cousin. I love special touches like that on a wedding day. We had a hard time picking our favorites of the day so enjoy this recap!

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
My florist Adriana knew exactly what I meant when I said I wanted the reception space to look “Romantic”. I knew from the start that I wanted candles everywhere and lots of white flowers. The candles and white flowers made the space look so elegant, classy, and definitely romantic. My florist used many different kinds of flowers. Since I wanted all white flowers, using different kinds of flowers made each pop. Rather than having one centerpiece bouquet per table I wanted several low, smaller vases. Having several lower, smaller vases really helped fill in the center of the table nicely.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail.
Sticking with my “Romantic” theme I wanted my dress to have lace, beading, and a train. I kept the jewelry very simple (a very thin bracelet, no necklace, and thin dangling earrings). My bridesmaids wore royal blue which is one of my favorite colors; so much so, that I found royal blue Badgley Mischka shoes to match them! The shoes looked great in pictures! The groom wore a black suit from Men’s Warehouse with a white shirt, black suspenders, and royal blue tie. To make the groomsmen look different they wore black shirts instead of white. The all black suits/shirts with the royal blue ties looked very sharp.
