From Anthony Vazquez Photography…Simone and Nicky knew each other since elementary school, but have reconnected and fell in love after college. For their wedding day, they wanted to create a special event for all their friends and relatives that would be different from anything they have previously experienced at weddings. They chose the beautiful, sprawling grounds at Cedar Lake Estate and turned their wedding into all weekend affair with a candle lit, outdoor rehearsal dinner, pre-wedding sports & lake activities, the glamorous wedding itself, and concluded the weekend with a hearty brunch.  It was very important for Simone & Nicky to maintain a very laid back, fun atmosphere as they wanted all their guests to partake in the festivities and just have fun.

I always knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding. I wanted to be in an amazing atmosphere outside. When I found Cedar Lakes Estate, my search was done. It was the perfect venue. I specifically got married there because of their Amphitheater location. It was the most gorgeous setting overlooking the water, under long whispy trees. My theme was to go “rustic glam”. However, my husband and I are very laid back so as much as I was going for the fairytale wedding look, I also wanted some  hippy vibes thrown in. We had two weddings, one that took place in church the month after, so that covered our religious traditions. That left us free to get creative with this ceremony at Cedar Lakes. We had my husbands sister marry us and incorporated our mothers to stand up and do readings I had picked out. It couldn’t have turned out better.

My mom surprised me with a trip to Italy to find my wedding dress. We are very Italian and she still have lots of family there, so it was just amazing to share that experience with her and family. All along I had a very specific look in my head. I wanted whimsical, fairytale, and flowers all over. My dress designer is Italian designer Alessandra Rinaudo. We were able to go to her flagship store in Milan and somehow after trying on 50 dresses, her amazing staff had one last hope in mind. This one ended up being it. It had 3D flower detail on it from top to bottom. It was low cut and sheer in the front and on the sides with crystal embellishment. It also had flower details on the straps. More than anything, I always wanted a long flowing veil. This dress had a veil that perfectly matched back to the dress, with the 3D flowers and crystals covering it. It was long and flowing perfection! I matched it with Jimmy Choo sparkly heels. My earrings and necklace were both matching diamond flowers from Tiffany’s which were gifts from my mom. I borrowed my flower head piece from my niece who had just worn it for her communion. For my husband, we wanted something that didn’t look too serious since we were outside in the woods. He also loves the color blue. B2BEspoke found him the perfect navy suit. He incorporated my favorite color pink into his tie and pocket square and we finished off the look with brown shoes. He also loves to race cars, so my mom got him race car cuff links from Tiffany’s.

The wedding decor was all based around the flowers. The venue was is so gorgeous in itself, that not much decoration was needed for the ceremony. Faye and Renee had really outdone themselves in all aspects of my wedding. Starting with the rehearsal dinner right into the reception. For the ceremony, I wanted to stick with the fairytale, whimsical look. I had these long white flowers hanging down before the aisle started. I had flowers lining the aisle all the way down to the deck. I had the most gorgeous flowers and lanterns surrounding us on the deck in this really pretty oval shape. Since we weren’t having a religious ceremony there, it was still important for me to incorporate something. I had Faye and Renee create wood boards with versus from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 on them also running down the aisle. We had Amy and Corey from White Hall Events create our programs and had them filled with flowers for our guests to throw at us on the way out. For the reception, we stuck with the same theme. The reception was held in their barn, which again is gorgeous in itself, so not too much was needed. I wanted everything based around these large flower installations that were going to be hanging from the ceiling. I really just wanted to be surrounded in this fairytale room of magical flowers and that’s exactly what it was. We had all different size candles on the tables. We had a beautiful flower back drop at the sweetheart table. I made the place cards out of fake leaves and hand wrote my guests names on them. We made all the gift bags for our guests ourselves. I had found bags on Amazon with a bride and grooms body, and my sister-in-law hot glued at least 200 of me and my husbands heads on the bags to complete the bodies. Since our guests on site were staying in cabins, I also found baskets that looked like pieces of wood which we filled with a ton of snacks. It added a really nice touch to the rustic theme.

I had a NYC based string quartet play called Sterling Strings for our rehearsal dinner! I would always see them playing during my commute in Penn Station and they were always completely surrounded by a crowd. When I saw them at an event when I was in the process of planning, I knew it was a sign and I had to have them. I had the most amazing VW van that was also a Photo Booth. I have always been obsessed with VW vans so when I found Madison and his company I knew I absolutely needed this. It went absolutely perfectly with the theme and vibe of the wedding. It was a huge hit and I think literally every guest took pictures in it. I also had @thecelebrationartist come and paint my reception as it unfolded. It is for sure one of the best things I did and I will forever have this gorgeous painting of me and my husbands first dance surrounded by family. However, my most favorite part of my wedding was my band, 45 Riots. I didn’t get off the dance floor once. I specifically wanted them because of one of their trombone players, who I had seen perform multiple times and was just a crazy personality. He did not disappoint when he stripped down to his golden underwear! My other favorite part of my wedding was my dance with my dad. We went the untraditional route and danced to my favorite song growing up, Mr. Jones. We just went wild and danced our hearts out.
