For ALL Couples Getting Married

When this styled shoot landed in our inboxes, we just had to share it immediately. It’s that pretty! Plus, it goes without saying that we love coastal wedding inspiration around here. Alyssa Jean Signature Events dreamed up so many design elements that started with a beachy backdrop set on the coast of Connecticut. And then there’s the soft color palette, two lovely bridal gowns (spoiler alert, one is blue!), and an ethereal tablescape complete with feminine florals, driftwood details, turquoise blue glassware, and even hand lettered agate place cards. See all the details below captured through the lens of Shelby Ann Photography!

From Shelby Ann Photography….Alyssa Johnson of Alyssa Jean Signature Events created the concept and design aesthetics for this shoot. She really wanted to capitalize on showcasing some of Connecticut’s beautiful coastline. We have so many wedding venues that are located on or near the water but don’t see as many portraits or set ups on the beach that take advantage of this scenery. She researched & visited beaches on both sides of the state including Penfield Beach in Fairfield as well as Silver Sands Beach in Milford before deciding that Hammonasset Beach in Madison was the best one for this shoot. “I loved the different areas at this beach that we could use for the shoot. The large rocks and long stretches of sandy beach were perfect for the classic, romantic vibe I was going for,” – Alyssa mentioned. The color palette chosen was also meant to reflect this classic/romantic feeling. Alyssa chose pale blue and white as the primary colors with accents of darker, ocean blue and sandalwood to complement. Each piece of table decor from the sea sponge charger plates to the vintage, ocean blue water goblets was intentionally selected to match the coastal theme.

When it came to photography, Alyssa Jean Signature Events envisioned a light, bright, and airy style. Shelby Ann Photography was the perfect match and captured the details perfectly. Amberworks Floral Design was given creative freedom to do what she wanted in terms of stem choice as long as it matched the color palette. The driftwood pieces and vessel for the centerpiece was a great way to truly tie the aesthetic together. The invitations, designed by XO Art & Design were printed on vellum, hand lettered and the invitation liner is 100% drawn by hand! Alyssa’s Cakery created the cake for the shoot and exceeded all expectations. Both Alyssa’s worked together on the vision for the cake – 3 tiered, pale blue with an eye catching feature like geode. The cake truly was center stage in the shoot. We wanted to keep things simple for fashion with a very neutral, minimal white dress and then something in pale blue with loads of movement. The two styles Julie Allen Bridals sent us were spot on for our model bride and vision.
