For ALL Couples Getting Married

Is there anything more fun than celebrating love during Fourth of July weekend? Didn’t think so! And when the couple’s first date also happened to take place that same weekend four years prior? Well, it makes for a super sweet story that pulls at our heartstrings. The entire day was planned to perfection with rustic details and simplistic Americana elements reminiscent of the holiday and the beginning of their love story. With Nikki & Chip behind the lens, we’re positive you’re going to love this gallery as much as we do. See our favorite moments below!

From Nikki & Chip Photography…Love at first type. That’s what happened for Jamie and Anthony who first met online. When the couple saw one another in person it was like fireworks! Perfectly fitting because their first date was on 4th of July weekend, and they tied the knot on the very same day four years later. For their wedding, they paired a country theme with touches of Americana—a nod to the holiday and beginning of their romance. Rustic elements included blue mason jars, tree slice stands for their centerpieces, blush-hued florals mixed with baby’s breath and burlap. “And we really loved the tree slice used for our cake that came from a tree that was more than one-hundred years old,” Jamie added. Sprinkled in were flag-patterned napkins, sunglasses and even groomsmen socks!

The sun was shining for nearly the entire day…except for one instance. You see, right when Jamie stepped out of the Rolls Royce to enter the church, it poured! Jamie, her father and some of the groomsman got soaked! As soon as she was inside the church, the sun came out again. But Jamie didn’t let it dampen her spirits. “I looked at that moment as my late grandmother crying happy tears!” she said. Rain or shine, Jamie was flawless. She wore an ivory lace Maggie Sottero ball gown with chapel-length train and cathedral veil adorned with lace trim (from Kleinfeld Bridals). She used her mother’s blusher as her “something old,” her grandmother’s handkerchief as her “something borrowed,” and a blue garter as her “something blue.” And she kicked off her heels for cowboy boots for their reception!

Jamie has great advice for anyone getting married: “The day goes by really fast. Take a moment to absorb it all. And when planning it is important to stick up for each other and make sure the day is what you both want it to be. We are really happy that we planned it together and didn’t let anyone else’s opinions get the best of us.”
