Today’s wedding takes us to California for a destination wedding filled to the brim with ethereal, rustic details. Set in Temecula wine country at Wedgewood at Galway Downs (an equestrian center), this wedding planned to perfection by Madam Palooza has so much to admire: An outdoor ceremony, wine barrels, romantic florals and draping, Edison lighting, and lots of wood elements to bring in a rustic vibe. Their wedding featured a donut wall, custom laser cut monogram signage at the ceremony and custom laser cut names of the guests at the tables , stunning florals and sparkler photos!
I was looking for an outdoor venue with an indoor reception area. After looking online at different venues, I came across Galway Downs, an equestrian center in the middle of Temecula wine country. This venue had the rustic, outdoor, open space I wanted with an upscale indoor modern barn. This was the only venue we visited and booked it the same day. After seeing the place in person, the vision of our wedding day came true. Our wedding was a rustic, romantic theme with an equestrian overtone. Our colors were blush, ivory, and champagne, with a lot of greenery (eucalyptus, ivy). A special part of our wedding was that we incorporated a lot of our family members into our day. The maid of honor was the bride’s cousin. The best man was the bride’s brother. For the ceremony, we used wine barrels at both ends of the aisles with white/rose gold lanterns and rose gold metal stands. We rose petals going down the aisle. For the alter, there was no traditional arch. We used tuling in the big oak tree to act as an arch but to not obscure from the view of the venue. Hanging from the center in the tree was a wooden monogram and a chandelier.
We used flowers to decorate the aisle for the ceremony and the sign-in table for guests. The bridesmaids had bouquets with ivory roses, hydrangeas, eucalyptus. The bride’s bouquet matched the bridesmaids but had blush and ivory flowers. The grooms boutonniere was blush while the groomsmen, fathers of the bride and groom, and grandfather wore ivory boutonnieres. The centerpieces for the tables were mixed height (half high and half low). For the high centerpieces, we used hydrangeas in large glass vases. The low centerpieces had floating votives in glass vases with varying heights and eucalyptus and ivory roses. The head table also had eucalyptus and ivory roses.
Our sign in table for guests was rented from Madam Palooza and had some florals on it. We had used our engagement pictures to make our wedding guest book. Also on the table, was a spot for gifts and cards with some signs. We had a wooden welcome sign custom made with our names and wedding date that was on display as guests came in and then moved into the reception area. For the reception, we had outdoor games during cocktail hour to make use of the outdoor space. We had a large glass mirror with a wooden frame to display the seating chart. We also had a memory table that consisted of pictures from both our families weddings. We had several signs to decorate the space. In the bar, we had an open bar sign. For our dessert area, we had a donut wall and had a custom made wooden sign that read, “Glazed and Delicious From the New Mr. and Mrs.” We used a wine barrel for our cake (a 3-tier red velvet and chocolate cake from Bo Cakes Bakery in Temecula). On the tables, we had each guests name made with wood to use as name cards. We made boxes with horseshoes for the table numbers. There were gold chargers used on the tables with ivory linens. For our favors, we made honey to put into small jars with a honey stick. The inside of the venue had a large stone fireplace with a big mantle. We used a large mirror to show off the lights and tuling that hung from the tall ceiling. We had a large ivy, eucalyptus, and ivory roses to decorate the mantle also. We had a head table with a sweetheart table and farm tables next to for bridesmaids and groomsmen.
