This Park Savoy Estate wedding has us feeling over the moon. The details are just so exquisitely designed and it comes as no surprise as it was planned perfectly by The Hip Event. Not only does this wedding feature some of the most romantic photographs captured by Drew Noel Photography, but it’s full of emotions that are just pure magic. You know, the kind of magic you feel on New Year’s Eve waiting for your midnight kiss or the kind of enchantment taken straight out of a fairytale. The elegance of this wedding is one to swoon over and we just can’t think of a more exciting way to end a fabulous fête than to announce [to family and friends] your baby’s gender!
Maria’s Jimmy Choo shoes were perfect for a night of dazzling and dancing. The Crown peep-toe pump added the right amount of sparkle to her overall look.
“I am chronically late for everything. I wanted to make sure that I was not late for this moment and it was super important I got there on time. When I was in the car on the way over I sent him a Facebook Post when I was outside five minutes early so we could always remember that moment. When I walked in he was looking at his watch which the photographer caught. It just was perfect for us to have that picture.”
“Drew was great to work with. From our first meeting I felt like he understood what we were looking for. His pictures were so out of the box and we did not want anything to be typical about them. Drew and his team were awesome. They did anything to get the shot. Their pictures were so out of the box and that is exacting what I was looking for. We did our pictures in Downtown Millburn and inside Peter’s restaurant where we first met.”
“I think what sold us completely on this venue was that the property was owned by Lucky Luciano in the 1920’s and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is centered his character in the 20’s. Besides that, the location was recently renovated and restored. It also was our first choice because food is so important to Peter as a restaurant owner. The ballroom was the most beautiful ballroom I have seen and the color palette of the room is all neutral and creams. It lends for the perfect setting for any theme or color story. As an event planner I have seen it all but with the level of professionalism with the staff, the décor and the reputation of the food it was the perfect trifecta.”
Each table was variously designed by Jerry Rose Floral & Event Design, incorporating high and low vases, infinity vases, white cylinder vases, mercury glasses with gold touches, branches, and a variety of florals, including hydrangea, white roses, calla lilies, and orchids.
In lieu of traditional favors, Maria and Peter made a donation to “Restore the Shore” to help the rebuilding of the Jersey shore area(s). The couple created a retro postcard (including family photos of them at the shore dating back to almost a century) for guests to take, in addition to salt water taffy that was ordered from the boardwalk to further support the relief efforts.
At the end of the evening, Maria and Peter snuck away to open the box that contained the answer about their baby’s gender. Neither of them knew what they were having until this moment, which was captured on camera and film. During the last song, Maria and Peter asked guests to gather around so they could make the announcement. “Peter’s face was priceless when he found out it was a boy,” reminisced Maria.
The Proposal: Peter proposed when we were on vacation in Mexico in August 2012. We always went away the last week in August since Peter closes the restaurant that week. He proposed on the second to last night of our vacation at a private chef’s tasting at Royal Hideaway in Riviera Maya. I was so surprised. I never expected it because I never thought he would take the ring to Mexico with him. I would like to say that I am the girl that has been planning her wedding since she was a little girl but I would be lying. I knew it was right because I made it this far with him though some of the hardest changes in my life so my answer was yes.
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: Walking out for the first time as husband and wife and the reveal of the sex of our baby which symbolizes our next steps together.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: I think the day as a whole is a memory but if I had to choose one, it was in church when I looked into Maria’s eyes.
Do you have any advice for couples that are planning their wedding? My advice would be to at some point during the wedding to take a step by stop and take a mental picture of the night. It goes so fast that you want to be able to hold on to it for as long as humanly possible. I did just that. I can remember at one point I was standing by the bar and I can vividly remember all my favorite people dancing and partying the night away. It just how imagined it would be and want to remember it!
