It’s no surprise that damask has been been a popular pattern choice for weddings throughout the years. It’s timeless, classy, modern, and especially brought an elegant sophistication to Stephanie and Mark’s black, white, and red wedding at The Estate at Florentine Gardens. This stylish pattern that can be found throughout this couple’s impeccable details captured by Relive Photography by Laura Parent will surely make you swoon!
Stephanie went to over ten bridal salons and tried on over 100 wedding gowns before finally finding the perfect gown. After having a terrible time finding a gown, Stephanie visited RK Bridal and in the end had a wonderful experience. She was able to look through the showroom and try on the dresses that caught her eye, which was important to the bride. “The woman who assisted me asked what was missing out of the dresses that I tried on, went back on the floor, and pulled my dress based off of the information I gave her. My gown had all of the elements that I wanted. It was comfortable, dramatic, and elegant,” commented the bride. Stephanie wore a mermaid-style lace dress with buttons down the back designed by San Patrick.
As the couple held the spotlight to “Hold On” by Michael Bublé, the fog beneath them made it appear as if they were floating or dancing on clouds. “Our first dance was everything we imagined and thought it would be. I loved looking into my wife’s eyes as we shared our dance together as husband and wife,” Mark reminisced. The Proposal: About four years after dating, the two made plans to go to the beach, but to Stephanie’s surprise, they ended up at the Statue of Liberty―a location where they haden’t been to since their childhood. After seeing Ellis Island, enjoying a boat ride, and taking pictures at the bottom of Lady Liberty, Stephanie and Mark took some time to escape the summer sun and to take in their surroundings. As they watched a storm pass over Manhattan, Mark brought up topics he had always avoided. After responding with something along the lines of “when we get engaged or married,” Mark reached into his bag, got down on one knee, and proposed with a vintage, white gold pave setting engagement ring. “I was in total shock!” exclaimed Stephanie.
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: My favorite memory of the day is when I was able to walk with my father down the aisle to my new husband. As I walked down, I saw all of our planning come together, my family, my friends, and the beauty of the day… it was just spectacular.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: The image I can still picture when my future wife came down the aisle. She looked absolutely gorgeous. She was so PERFECT.
Do you have any advice for couples that are planning their wedding? Don’t let anyone tell you what you can, or cannot do. It’s YOUR day. Don’t let anyone else forget that. At the end of the day, when the stress of putting it all together can be overwhelming, remember that it’s only one day. Things may go wrong, but they are beyond your control and you will always have each other.
