In just a few short weeks, summer will be officially over. Isn’t it always so bittersweet as the day’s start getting cooler and the sun starts setting earlier? Before we say farewell to another spectacular summer, today we’re sharing Tanya and Kevin’s gorgeous wedding photos captured by Janet Studios that will have you dreaming of celebrating love amid a pristine locale over and over again. Trust us, this waterside wedding held at The Channel Club is one you don’t want to miss!
Tanya and Kevin began searching for a location to host their wedding and The Channel Club had everything they were looking for and more. From the open floor plan to the windows revealing a water view to the dance floor, and the onsite ceremony location on the dock, the couple loved what the facility had to offer. “After booking our venue and going back many months later after the Superstorm Sandy renovations, it was even better than I pictured it being. The Channel Club did such a great job,” commented Kevin.
The Proposal: “On January 14, 2012 I went with my friend back to Monmouth, our college where we met, to look at possible ceremony sites for her wedding (or so I thought). I was trying to be supportive, but was freezing so secretly was hoping we were almost done looking. Finally, we walked around to the front of Wilson Hall. Tobi told me to go stand in front of the building so she could see what it would look like for her “ceremony”. As I started walking towards the building and to my complete surprise, I saw Kevin standing there. Everything was perfect from that moment on. He reenacted a scene from one of our favorite movies Love Actually, where he held up posters to talk about our relationship. Then Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Without any hesitation, and through many happy tears, I said yes! To celebrate we went back to our friend Danny’s bar and I was so happy to see that some of our closest friends were there to celebrate with us. Kevin claims everything didn’t go as planned but I thought it was perfect because at the end of the day I knew I was going to be marrying my best friend. Kevin and I dated all through my 4 years of college. I don’t remember the exact moment that I knew he was “the one”, but I remember it being my sophomore year. He understood all my passions and was my biggest fan on and off the soccer field. He knew how to make me laugh and how to make me feel like the most important person in the world. I knew it was going to be a long time from then, but I couldn’t wait to call him my husband one day and to begin a family with him.”
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: My favorite memory was taking the elevator downstairs on my way to our first look. I was so excited to see Kevin for the first time and for him to see me in my dress. I loved the way he looked at me as he turned around and saw me for the first time.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: spending the most special day of my life with my closest friends and family at the jersey shore where I met my future wife.
Advice for engaged couples who are planning their wedding: There will always be something more to do, so take one thing at a time. The planning goes by so fast and when the day comes the only thing that really matters that you are getting married today! Try to enjoy each step of the way.
