For ALL Couples Getting Married

Weddings at the Jersey shore are pretty iconic. Case in point? Danielle and Kevin’s wedding captured through the lens of mle pictures. Set in the heart of Ocean City, this adorable duo got the best of both worlds: classic beachside portraits and fun shots on the boardwalk. They even went on rides with their bridesmaids and groomsmen and stopped for Kohr’s ice cream! Danielle and Kevin effortlessly tied old Hollywood glam with beach romance and you just have to see it all below.

From mle pictures…This gorgeous spring Ocean City NJ wedding was a great way to kick off spring at the Jersey Shore! Danielle and Kevin’s day could not have been more perfect. The Flanders Hotel is a fantastic venue for an vintage inspired beach wedding. The Manic Botanic, created the flawless florals seen throughout the day. Danielle’s insanely gorgeous Maggie Sottero Wedding Dress and Badgley Mischka shoes were the perfect picks to effortlessly pull off the Old Hollywood look. The girls had a blast getting ready in their suite at the Flanders before helping Danielle make her way to the beach for an epic first look! Kevin patiently waited on the beach, with hundreds of bystanders trying to get a glimpse of this special moment from the boardwalk. Claude used the drone to capture the drama from above, as Danielle’s dress looked exquisite in the sand. With the Ocean City boardwalk being steps away, we were able to enjoy some of Danielle and Kevin’s favorite locations like Kohr Brothers ice cream and Gillian’s Wonderland for bridal party pictures! The hallway into the ceremony at the Flander’s was an enchanting spot for photos. A mirror lined hallway with soft light made for an ethereal ambiance as Danielle and her dad walked down the aisle. An intimate, romantic room awaited with hundreds of candles and flower petals dusting the aisle. With numerous emotional poems and readings, there was not a dry eye in the room. Kevin and Danielle “tied the knot” in a literal sense as well during this sweet ceremony. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a fantastic cocktail hour and raw bar before making their way into the party! You can tell this crowed was ready to let loose and dance with the impromptu Hora dance. Danielle and Kevin surprised guests with an impressive spread of boardwalk treats including Manco & Manco pizza and Johnson’s Popcorn at the end of the night. This Ocean City NJ wedding was so much fun to capture!

Our wedding day was absolutely magical. It was everything we imagined and more and we’re still reliving all the wonderful moments a year later. The inspiration behind our wedding was a mix of fairy tale and old Hollywood. Getting married in OCNJ was a no brainer, but we weren’t interested in a “beach” wedding – we just wanted the gorgeous setting of the ocean and the OC boardwalk. Where we celebrated, The Flanders Hotel, is a gorgeous, vintage hotel with 1920s vibes and we really played that up. Our day was all pink, gold and navy blue, a color combination that really came together and was perfect for our theme. Kevin and I are both religious but didn’t incorporate anything too traditional in our ceremony – we really designed it all, start to finish, to fit us as individuals and it made for the perfect day.

Flowers were essential for us to get the classic, romantic feel we were looking for. We utilized them in the ceremony on our arch and to line the aisle. All of my ladies were fit with beautiful bouquets of soft pink and white flowers and an abundance of greens, while the men’s boutonnieres were styled with similar colors and flower choices. We had drapes of flowers made to accompany some signs in our cocktail hour that were then repurposed for our sweetheart table during the reception. Our florists were absolutely fantastic. I had a lot of thoughts and ideas – that didn’t always stick – and they really rolled with the punches and delivered the most beautiful end product. The greatest thing about it was that they were able to repurpose everything in the ceremony to fit seamlessly in our reception space.

Our day was extremely personalized – for me that was my biggest sticking point – I wanted our guests to come to our big day and feel like this was 100% Danielle and Kevin. I’m a huge fairy tale fan (we went to Disney to celebrate our honeymoon), so the idea of a fairy tale wedding was immediate. I was really concerned with keeping it fairy tale – not Disney – and have a tasteful, romantic, classic feel, so we picked a lot of pieces up at different times that screamed fairy tale, like our signs and centerpieces. We incorporated photos into our big day on the heaven table and ones of myself and my husband as kids sharing in our favorite pastime, playing baseball/softball. For the guests’ gifts, we diverted from the traditional “things” and instead donated the money we would have spent on gifts to a shelter local to us where we’ve adopted two amazing dogs – our family and friends really loved that. We personalized the ceremony a lot, since we got married outside of the church, we were able to design it from start to finish. We hired a pianist and a violinist to play our processional/recessional music, which was beautiful. We included a fisherman’s knot tying portion to our ceremony to symbolizing our marriage, and our readings were true to us, having our family members read, I Carry Your Heart With Me (E.E. Cummings), In My Life (The Beatles), and an Irish Blessing. Lastly, the location of our wedding was probably the most personalized thing. As a Jersey girl, I grew up going to OCNJ constantly. It was a family affair and is to this day my most favorite place in the world. Deciding to get married at Flanders was a no-brainer – the second we walked in, it just completed our vision of a classic, romantic setting for our big day. Kevin and I have shared many a vacation at OCNJ, so there was no question it was where we would say, I do.
