Kristyn and Stephen were mere acquaintances following their initial meeting at a fitness center in March of 2010. They were friendly with each other, just chatting every so often until Stephen asked Kristyn for her phone number. The two went out a couple weeks later and ended up having a great time. “After that date, I hoped he was going to approach me again, and he sure did,” Kristyn shared. A few months later their relationship became exclusive, which began the journey to happily ever after.
“Finding my wedding gown was a fun experience. I tried it on once and then continued shopping. After trying on about 20-30 gowns, I went back to Cinderella Bridals to try it on again. I knew it was the one.”
The couple chose to exchange vows at the church that Stephen grew up attending. He had a lot of memories at St. Agnes Church and always hoped to get married at the church where his parents also tied the knot.
Upon walking into The English Manor, Kristyn and Stephen were impressed by the warm and intimate feel of the facility, as well as the staff who welcomed them with open arms. “The staff was extremely helpful when it came to questions we had. They weren’t pushy, and we had an overall wonderful experience,” Kristyn shared. In addition, they loved the beautiful grounds and that the facility only hosts one wedding at a time.
As Kristyn and Stephen shared their first dance to “Then” by Brad Paisley, the two mentioned they embraced the moment and didn’t even notice there were 150 guests watching on.
The Proposal: Three years into their courtship, Kristyn and Stephen visited his family’s cabin in Pennsylvania―a place that has special meaning to the couple. As the two were enjoying a walk around the pond one evening, Kristyn was surprised to turn around to find Stephen on one knee. To make the proposal even more magical, Stephen had his sister capture every moment on camera and arranged to have Kristyn’s parents arrive that evening so they could celebrate with everyone.
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: Kristyn enjoyed spending time with her husband and bridal party during the trolley ride after the ceremony.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: Watching Kristyn walk down the aisle was Stephen’s favorite memory of the day.
Do you have any advice for couples that are planning their wedding? The day absolutely flies by and just enjoy every minute of it. The headaches over little things aren’t worth it at all, everything ends up perfect.
What are you currently enjoying or looking forward to as a couple? Kristyn and Stephen are finishing renovations on their house and look forward to starting a family in the near future.
