Annie and Jim
August 28, 2010
Crystal Point Yacht Club • Point Pleasant, NJ
When Annie and Jim had their first date at Stout NYC, they quickly realized they had many things in common and that their paths had crossed several times before fate brought them together. The two began seeing each other regularly, and Annie knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jim after meeting his warm and welcoming family for Christmas dinner. For an intimate proposal, Jim knew he wanted it to take place somewhere that was special to both of them. While on the beach during a weekend trip to Breakers on the Ocean in Spring Lake, Jim turned to Annie and asked, “Will you spend the rest of your life with me?” The happily engaged couple then celebrated with family and friends at a party that was planned by her sister.
With less than a year before the big day, the couple knew exactly what they wanted – a location with a gorgeous view, delicious food, and elements that would tie together their nautical-inspired celebration – and that was The Crystal Point Yacht Club. Guests were informed about the August 28, 2010 wedding with elegant invitations that had a scrollwork design with a single navy starfish in the center.
The couple chose to have their reception at the Crystal Point Yacht Club for its beautiful grounds, known reputation, convenient location, accommodating staff, and the option to arrive to their celebration in style by a Viking Yacht. From cocktail hour, dinner and dessert, guests enjoyed a wide array of food from passed hors d’oeuvres, a pasta station, seafood crepe station, carving station, and chafing dishes of calamari to stuffed shells, roasted pork loin, eggplant rollatini, and chicken savoy.
Mary Raleigh from Contemporary Image Photography captured the day perfectly. Her professionalism, creative eye, and easy going attitude allowed the bride and groom to be comfortable in front of the camera. The couple liked how Mary was familiar with the ceremony and reception locations, which allowed her to capture many beautiful photographs.
After their celebration, the couple escaped to Hawaii and spent time in Maui and The Big Island. During their romantic two weeks in paradise, Annie and Jim had the opportunity to snorkel off of a catamaran, see Pilate Whales, watch a sunrise over a volcano, and, of course, enjoy their time as newlyweds.
