Krystle and Daniel
August 26, 2011
The Venetian • Garfield, NJ
High School sweethearts Krystle and Daniel dated for over eight years and while family and friends knew the couple would eventually get married, Daniel really wanted to make the proposal a surprise. A few weeks before March 6, 2010 Daniel asked Krystle to attend his work party with him, but knowing she had work that day Krystle had to decline the invitation. “I went to sleep really upset knowing that I wouldn’t be able to go,” shared Krystle. “I went out on a limb and called Krystle’s boss, told her my plans, and requested to give her off. I even asked her to call Krystle the morning of so she wouldn’t suspect anything,” added Daniel. The two ventured to Central Park, New York City and as they made their way around the lake Krystle stopped to get a better close-up picture of the fountain across the way. As she turned around to call Daniel over, he was already down on one knee asking Krystle to marry him. They celebrated with a bottle of champagne at The Boathouse and toasted to their engagement.
Watching Krystle walk down the aisle at Saint Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church was Daniel’s favorite memory of their wedding day. Donning a Pnina Tornai mermaid-style gown embellished with Swarovski crystals, a cathedral length veil, and Christian Louboutin shoes, Krystle was escorted down the aisle by her father. “She looked absolutely beautiful and her smile in that moment was something I will remember the rest of my life,” shared the groom. During the full mass ceremony, the two exchanged vows and included Filipino traditions- the veil and cord ceremonies, which represents unity and a lifelong bond between the couple. Following a lovely ceremony, the newlyweds along with their parents and grandparents, released six white doves- symbolizing love, faithfulness, joy, and hope.
Chosen for its attentive staff, reputation for its world-class service, and grand architecture, the reception was held at The Venetian. “The level of service and number of people they have supporting you throughout the process is unparalleled,” noted Daniel. “We attended a wedding at The Venetian in 2008. Since then there have been renovations and additions made throughout the facility and after visiting, it was a no brainer,” added Krystle. During the extravagant cocktail hour guests were offered a variety of food including a sushi station with a sake dispenser, roasted pig and rack of lamb carving station, hot and cold seafood fare, and a fromage and wine station. Signature drinks of grape and apple martinis were also available, in addition to a vodka station, and full bars. For dinner, guests had a choice of petit filet, herb roasted chicken, or potato crusted Chilean sea bass. “The food was fresh and if you wanted your food or drinks a specific way the staff did it without questions,” Daniel commented.
Mirage Band entertained guests with live music from the beginning of the reception until the last dance of the evening. They played a diverse selection of music including 60s, 80s, and 90s to country, hip hop, and house. Krystle and Daniel also requested polka dancing to honor Daniel’s Ukranian heritage. For their first dance as newlyweds, the couple held the spotlight to “Then” by Brad Paisley. They also participated in the traditional parent dances and danced with their siblings to “I Hope You Dance” by Leann Womack.
Dessert included a grand Viennese hour where guests indulged in sweet treats of Haagen Dazs ice cream bars, fruit sushi, freshly made waffles and crepes, in addition to their wedding cake designed by Palermo’s Custom Cakes and Bakery.
From the bride and groom prep throughout the ceremony and reception, McKay Imaging captured the special moments flawlessly in photography. Krystle loved Robert and Elisabeth’s attention to detail, artistic style of candid images, as well as their nonintrusive approach. Krystle and Daniel are equally pleased with their videographer, Rob Adams Films. Following the wedding of their dreams, Krystle and Daniel escaped to Cancun, Mexico for their honeymoon, where they stayed at Le Blanc Spa Resort.
