If there’s one word to perfectly describe this New Jersey wedding at the Westmount Country Club it would be stunning. The bold color scheme, the setting, the flowers, and the love that surrounded Lauren and Chris throughout the day are just a few of our favorite moments. Not to mention, each photo is perfectly captured by Joseph Delgado Photography. Every detail is more pretty than the next, so get ready to spend your afternoon pinning and swooning away!
After the Westmount Country Club was recommended to the bride’s father, Lauren and Chris decided to take a look, and it didn’t take long for them to be sold. They not only loved the fluidity of the rooms, but were impressed by the grounds and overall décor, including the large dance floor, fireplace, and spectacular chandeliers.
Displayed inside moss-covered boxes were three pillar candles surrounded by low floral arrangements. Navy table linens, tea lights, and rose petals completed the romantic tablescapes perfectly.
The Proposal: Chris proposed February 9th of 2013. I had an idea it was coming with the way the trip happened but I wasn’t 100% sure. Our first stop was Hilton Head – he got me up for the sunrise (which is an accomplishment in itself because I am definitely not a morning person) – I waited throughout the sunrise for him to propose and it didn’t happen. After spending the morning walking the beach and around Hilton Head we drove to Savannah (one of my most favorite places). We walked around the squares and River Street and then checked into our hotel (The Mansion at Forsyth Park – it is a beautiful hotel). Forsyth Park is what I love most about Savannah, so he suggested we go for a walk around the park. On this walk he bent down to tie his shoes three times (but no proposal) – we walked over in front of the fountain (which is glorious) and he became extremely disappointed that the fountain was under construction. By this time – I had given up and figured I’d gotten my hopes up for nothing. We went back to the room and got ready for dinner. We had dinner at the Chart House, followed by drinks of the rooftop of The Bohemian. We headed back to the hotel, walked around a bit and headed back to the room. As I finished putting my pajamas on, I turned around and saw him on one knee with the ring. I don’t know what he said or what I said as side from “put it on my finger”!
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: After dinner, Chris and I had a few minutes to sit back and see all of our loved ones in one room together, happy and celebrating us. I think that I’ll always remember.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: Favorite memory of the day was when we entered the ballrooom and walked out for the first dance and Laur said to me “I look damn good today” (she’s never one to boast).
Advice for engaged couples: Get as much done in the beginning of your engagement as you can. I feel that we did a really great job planning, from a distance, in advance. This allowed us to enjoy the few months leading up to the wedding and not stressing out about things we may have missed. Also, budget things by the month. Each month we would purchase something different, that way it didn’t break the bank and we had some money in our accounts by the time the wedding and honeymoon rolled around.
