We love reminiscing over beautiful wedding photos, but when a couple has a charming story behind their romance, it makes it twice as nice to relive. Stephanie and Robert met in high school and following their initial fling, the two separated only to reconnect after seeing each other by chance in Walt Disney World while on family vacations. “We still had a strong connection after all those years apart. It was easy to be together, and we hit it off so well,” Stephanie shared. The love these two share is so easily read not only on their smiling faces, but through the breathtaking moments captured by John DeFiora Photography.
“I wanted colored shoes to match my bridesmaids. They were simple peep-toe pumps with a rhinestone accent on the toe in plum.”
From the wedding preparations throughout the ceremony and reception, John DeFiora Photography captured the special moments in a photojournalistic approach. “John is more of an artist than someone just taking portraits and documenting the event. Every aspect of each of his photos is there for a purpose,” commented Robert.
When it came time to choose a reception location, Stephanie and Robert knew they couldn’t pass up the irresistible Hotels Unlimited Black Friday sale. After seeing the Versailles Ballroom, they were impressed by the overall layout of the facility, as well as the space that would easily accommodate their large guest list.
Following the first dance to “Do You Remember” by Jack Johnson, SCE Event Group got the party started and had guests dancing the entire night. Their emcee for the evening, Tony Tee, played a variety of music and incorporated non-mainstream songs that the couple likes.
The Proposal: The morning after Hurricane Irene hit, we were sitting on the couch in Rob’s living room watching the news. We were having fairly normal conversation when suddenly the talk turned wedding. Rob suddenly had all these questions about when I wanted to get married, and how long I’d like an engagement to last. I thought nothing of this line of questioning since we’d already talked about it before and happily answered his questions the best I could. I continued to be completely oblivious when Rob finally said that he would really like to marry me, got down on one knee, and proposed.
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: Our first dance was one moment where we didn’t have to worry about saying hello to guests or anything. We could just be together.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: Our first dance made me think of high school dances where we’d dance and not care at all about what was going on around us.
