From Heyn Photography…Laritza and Mark’s gorgeous spring wedding at Smoke Rise Village Inn last weekend is one we will remember for a long time. We started the day with both the bride and groom getting ready at Hyatt House in Parsippany. Laritza’s mom and sister helped her get into her classic Maggie Soterro gown. We were able to snag some high drama photos of our gorgeous bride before we went off to our first look. Mark’s alma mater Delbarton Prep school provided the most incredible backdrop for our photos. The extensive grounds and beautiful old architecture complemented the elegant theme of the day perfectly. After a very sweet and touching first look, we spent some time with the bride, groom and bridal party exploring the grounds and getting some epic photos. The lush grass and blooming trees gave us that perfect spring feel. The bridesmaids baby blue dresses stood out in the best way. Then we headed to our venue for the ceremony and reception. The weather was absolutely perfect for Laritza and Mark’s outdoor ceremony at Smoke Rise Village Inn. After a beautiful ceremony, we headed into cocktail hour and the reception. With their loved ones there to help them celebrate, our newlyweds danced the night away. There were some very touching toasts including one by Mark. This sweet couple had us smiling all day, feeling the joy of their love. We had a blast and we wish Laritza and Mark a lifetime of happiness together.

We both had an easy time choosing that to wear. I went to Klinefeld’s in NYC and fell in love with a Maggie Sottero gown. The Badgley Mischka shoes were a no brainer as they are some of the most quintessential bridal shoes! Mark had heard rave reviews about the suit rental service called Black Tux and decided to use it. Mark and I tend to made decisions on the spot: if we like it, we get it.

Because it was a spring wedding, we chose a soft color palette — sky blue, light peach, cream, and white. We wanted to create a space that felt fun and easygoing for our guests so we could enjoy celebrating our marriage. We favor simplicity and wanted that to come across our florals. The greenery from the flower arrangements added vibrancy to our wedding and we were very pleased with everything Conroy Flowers did for us. They had the wonderful idea to create an 8 ft flower bar to place on top of the barn doors we were putting as backdrop for the ceremony.

The wedding being a mesh of two cultures, American and Cuban, we wanted that to reflect in both food and music. Our dj from Golden Note Entertainment was Colombian and he made announcements in English and Spanish which helped my family who are primarily Spanish speaking. He also did a fantastic job reading the crowd and playing English and Spanish songs.
