Baby it sure is cold outside! While the temperatures aren’t as warm as we might like them to be, we’re heating our day up as we reminisce over Dina and Nick’s wedding that took place last April at the Crystal Point Yacht Club. It’s hard to believe that Hurricane Sandy swept through the Jersey shore area just six months prior to the couple’s big day. Why you might ask? Well their photographs captured by John Arcara Photography on the Point Pleasant boardwalk are as gorgeous as ever! From their vibrant turquoise, white and yellow color scheme to their oh-so-sweet engagement story, this New Jersey wedding is one you want to take a break for! Grab a cup of coffee, snuggle up in front of your computer and get ready to daydream over a hot summer day on the Jersey Shore and of course stunning details that we just can’t get enough of!
Since the plumeria flower played a key role in the couple’s proposal, they felt it was important to incorporate it into their wedding.
After inquiring about Henry Roth bridesmaid dresses, Dina learned that they were not sold in the U.S. She then took a chance by leaving a message on Henry Roth’s Facebook page, which led to an email and a meeting with the designer himself in New York City. “My bridesmaids were the first and only ever to order and wear Henry Roth bridesmaid dresses in the U.S. Henry and his sister, Michelle Roth, are amazing people. Henry was involved from start to finish, and when he was traveling, Michelle was involved. I never met two designers who are so passionate and full of such energy and excitement for a bride.”
Dina and Nick visited many facilities, but in the end the Crystal Point Yacht Club had everything they wanted. After attending weddings there in the past, they both had amazing experiences and they both remembered the food. “Once we were given a tour of the facility, it was a no-brainer. Crystal Point was elegant, classy, and the staff was very accommodating for any and everything we needed or wanted for our special day.”
“Our first dance was just magical,” the bride mentioned. As Dina and Nick held the spotlight to “A Thousand Years,” they gazed into each other’s eyes and embraced their newly married status. Nick added, “I’ll never forget that moment.”
The Proposal: During a family vacation to Hawaii with Nick’s family, the couple decided to celebrate their anniversary and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the evening alone. Before they headed out to enjoy a romantic dinner, Dina and Nick took a walk on the beach to watch the sunset. Dina was wearing the lei that Nick had bought her the night before, but since it was starting to wither, he purchased a new one. She asked the gentleman what to do with the old lei and he explained that it’s tradition to put it in the ocean in memory of someone who has passed. After placing the lei in the ocean in memory of Dina’s father, who passed away when she was nine, they began walking back to the hotel when Nick stopped and told her that he had purchased her a plumeria necklace for their anniversary. As Nick began to pull something out of his pocket, he dropped to one knee and, to Dina’s surprise, proposed with a beautiful engagement ring. “I didn’t know it at the time, but Nick’s whole family was in on it. His twin brother was on the beach taking pictures, and the rest of his family had a champagne toast waiting for us. Even my mother, who was back in New Jersey, knew, as Nick had asked her permission to marry me,” reminisced Dina.
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: Kissing my husband and being pronounced as husband and wife!
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: When those doors opened and I got to see my bride as she walked towards me to be joined as husband and wife.
