There’s something about this romantic purple wedding at South Gate Manor that instantly warms our hearts. Not only does each and every detail exude classic elegance with just the right amount of glamour, but this couple’s love story is one that reminds us that love finds us at the most unexpected moments. Lauren and Carl met during the summer while he was working on the Point Pleasant boardwalk. After meeting during Carl’s shift working at Kohr’s ice cream, the two began talking and just hit it off. It turns out the two grew up on the same street, but never knew other. Brighten your evening with all of the fabulous photography captured by Jessica Lauren Photography.
Lauren tried on about 25 to 30 wedding gowns before finding “the one.” She immediately fell in love with her sweetheart, strapless Stephen Yearick mermaid-style gown detailed with intricate beadwork. Benjamin Adams peep-toe pumps covered in Swarovski crystals complemented Lauren’s wedding day attire flawlessly.
“Jessica of Jessica Lauren Photograph is such a talented photographer and it really shows through in her work. We also clicked immediately. I really loved that Jessica and Stacey, who were our photographers, made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. They never once made it seem like work.”
Lauren’s bridesmaids wore short, eggplant-colored Enzoani dresses with a black satin belt.
The reception was held at South Gate Manor, chosen for its accommodating staff and warm ambience. After visiting the facility prior to their wedding, Lauren knew it would be the perfect place to host their celebration. The couple loved the beautiful marble floors and rich textures used throughout, but it was the phenomenal cocktail hour room featuring LED lighting in the ceiling that really wowed Lauren and Carl.
In addition to the red velvet and tiramisu wedding cake, guests were treated to fresh cannolis, Italian cookies, various pastries, a chocolate fountain, and a station serving fried Oreos, fresh donuts, and zeppole.
The Proposal: Carl proposed at his parents house. We were looking at engagement rings online so Carl would know what style I liked. We got to this one picture, and on the bottom of the screen it said “try this ring on”. I said to Carl, how am supposed to try this ring on? He said put your hand up to the screen. I said I can’t tell I would have to see it in person. He pulls this ring out of his pocket and says what about this ring? I was so shocked, I really had no idea!
Bride’s favorite memory of the day: When we were sitting at the alter at our ceremony and Carl told me “I found my something
blue to wear”. I started laughing because Carl thought he had to wear his “something blue” haha.
Groom’s favorite memory of the day: Finding these crazy looking sunglasses on the way to the church. Everyone would put them on and do a dance it was really fun! They seriously made our wedding.
